A digitizer is an electronic measuring device that measures to an accuracy of +/- .001 of an inch. You measure by placing a drawing on top of the digitizer and trace multiple objects (lengths, arcs, areas etc.) using a pen-like instrument called a stylus. You can name and color-code each of the items that you trace to allow you to identify exactly what you have drawn and link it to your estimate when you are finished.
